About Dr. Jose Cardona
Dr. Jose Cardona, is the medical director of Mexico Bariatrics’ weight loss program. Dr. Cardona is a leading weight-loss surgeon in Mexico with extensive clinical experience, and is board-certified in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery.
Dr. Cardona has dedicated his life to the fight against obesity and is committed to helping patients realize the benefits that bariatric surgery provides.
Dr. Cardona and his exceptional staff believe in not only ensuring that the patient is well prepared for their weight loss procedure, they are also well educated on the steps necessary to produce success. The patient’s success is their success.
Dr. Cardona earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL), and his medical degree from University of Guadalajara School of Medicine, and completed his general surgery residency at General Hospital Medical Center in Mexico City.
Since completing a fellowship in laparoscopic general surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. USA, Dr. Jose Cardona has performed thousands of advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeries.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Cardona has been a member of research teams that have published articles on a variety of surgical topics in several peer-reviewed journals. He continues to be involved in research and the development of innovative weight-loss surgery procedures.
